Recruiting Tools Every Recruiter Should Leverage
In the day of ever-evolving technology recruiters have to stay current or they will be left in the dust. Recruiters may work with a variety of applicant tracking systems or work for a company with nothing more than Excel. The ability to learn and leverage any technology is what will set the newbies apart from the skilled. A recruiter may not have any influence on the recruiting tools their employer opts to use, but they need to come prepared with their own set of resources. Here are some must-haves:
LinkedIn – Personal connections, niche connections and professional groups are just a few reasons to be on this site. A recruiter looking for a recruiting position who doesn’t have a solid LinkedIn network is like a mechanic showing up not knowing how to use air tools. LinkedIn has survived many technological advances and remains strong. Here are some interesting stats:
- Over 2.1 million groups
- 187 million unique monthly visitors
- 277 million users
Facebook Graph – Recruiters need to know how to use it and use it well. By the end of 2013 Facebook had over 1.23bn monthly active users. 90% of the users update their education and location status.
